Tomas Berdych wins at Stuttgart Open, ends 5-match losing streak

STUTTGART, Germany — Tomas Berdych beat Benoit Paire 7-6 (Three), 6-Four to finish his five-match losing streak and attain the quarterfinals of the Stuttgart Open on Thursday.

The third-seeded Czech dropped simply six first-serve factors and saved the one break he confronted.

Berdych subsequent faces Milos Raonic, who beat Marton Fucsovics 6-2, 6-Four. The seventh-seeded Canadian goes for his first title on grass.

Guido Pella of Argentina beat Indian qualifier Prajnesh Gunneswaran 7-6 (Four), 6-Three to arrange a quarterfinal in opposition to Roger Federer.

Also, fourth-seeded Nick Kyrgios returned from a proper elbow damage to beat Maximilian Marterer 6-Four, Four-6, 6-Three for a match in opposition to Feliciano Lopez. Lopez progressed previous Gilles Simon 7-6 (6), 6-Four.
