Riyad Mahrez has paid tribute to his former club Leicester City and their supporters.
The Algeria winger joined Manchester City on Tuesday in what was described as a “club-record” payment – believed to be within the area of £60 million.
“To all Leicester fans, we have made some amazing memories and history together,” the 27-year-old stated on his private Twitter account.
“Winning the Premiership (in 2015-16) towards all odds was simply one thing else and none of this might have been potential with out your extraordinary assist for me and the group.
“I need to thank all of you for welcoming me to the club proper from the beginning and persevering with to give me the idea and encouragement to obtain what now we have collectively.
“I would also like to thank my teammates, staff and everyone at the club who have become a big part of my life in the last few years.”
After becoming a member of the Foxes from Le Havre in 2014, Mahrez went on to assist Nigel Pearson’s aspect attain, after which finally, keep within the division.
