FIA extends probe into child pornography countrywide | Pakistan

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prolonged the scope of its investigation into child sexual abuse and pornography countrywide, following the arrest of a suspect concerned in on-line buying and selling of such content material.

FIA Deputy Director Khalid Anis stated that the scope of investigation has been prolonged on the directives of FIA’s director normal.

“A two-member team has been formed, while letters have been written to FIA offices all over the country,” Anis stated.

The group contains FIA officers Imran Haider and Salman Khan, added the deputy director.

On Sunday, the FIA arrested a person, Taimur Maqsood, for possessing and dealing in child porn movies from Jhang’s Satellite city.

During the raid, 60 gigabytes of information, a laptop computer, cell phone, banned movies and different tools was recovered from the suspect, who’s engineer by career.

“The data recovered from the suspect has been scanned,” Anis stated, including that the movies are usually not of Pakistani youngsters, however of minors from different international locations.

Sunday’s raid in Jhang was carried out following a tip-off from Canadian regulation enforcement authorities through Interpol.

FIA officers had knowledgeable that Canadian authorities recognized the person after an operation in Ottawa.
