ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday issued an 86-point code of conduct for the upcoming common election 2018.
The code of conduct, divided into two elements, pertains to political events, contesting candidates, election brokers and polling brokers.
According to the code of conduct, the political events, candidates and election brokers shall always uphold the rights and freedom of the folks of Pakistan as assured by the Constitution and regulation.
The political events, candidates and election brokers shall abide by all instructions, directions and laws issued by the Election Commission, once in a while, regarding clean conduct of elections, the upkeep of public order and morality and chorus from maligning the Election Commission in any type in anyway, violation whereof would entail contempt as contemplated in Section 10 of the Elections Act 2017, it provides.
Another level states that the political events shall endeavour to offer equal alternative to its certified members each women and men to take part in electoral course of and, whereas making the choice of candidates on common seats in an Assembly, the social gathering shall guarantee not less than 5 % illustration of girls candidates as required below Section 206 of the Act.
The common election is scheduled to be held on July 25, 2018.
