Christina Aguilera is not achieved speaking about The Voice.
After vowing to by no means return to the singing competitors present earlier this month, the 37-year-old singer, who was a coach for six seasons, clarified a few of her feedback in a new interview with W journal.
“I signed on to a show where the blind audition element was something interesting, something genuine. After a while, though, you start to see that everyone is good-looking,” she explains. “It wasn’t a comfortable place for me to be, where I’m just part of a money-making machine. When I stop believing in something, then it’s like, ‘What am I doing here?'”
“I think I did choose to, no pun intended, take a chair for so long and do something very commercial for my little ones,” she provides. “But at a certain point I felt like I’m not even doing them a service by cheating myself and what I’m here to do. They should be seeing Mommy live her best life.”
Aguilera, who has two kids, Max, 10, and Summer, three, continued on, telling the outlet that she fought onerous to get two females into the well-known rotating chairs. The present’s present 14th season sits longtime coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, together with Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson.
“And, for a long time, I was just told it wasn’t the demographic,” she says. “But just know that I was a fighter behind the scenes.”
“Once again, I found myself in that place where I’m being told what to do, what’s going to be acceptable or unacceptable, what’s OK or not OK,” she says. “It’s like, ‘God,’ you know? I’m a mother of two now. The genie is out of the bottle.”
Meanwhile, a supply from the present beforehand informed ET, “Christina was an extremely priceless member of The Voice for a lot of seasons and we admire all she did for the present. She’ll at all times be a a part of The Voice household.”
