Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet in Karachi today | Pakistan

KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet for the sighting of the Shawwal moon in the night today (Thursday) right here in town, underneath the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

A proper announcement concerning Eid-ul-Fitr shall be made after proof of moon sighting is collected from completely different components of the nation.

Beside the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, zonal committees will maintain conferences in main cities of the nation to accumulate proof concerning the sighting of Shawwal moon.  

Earlier, a notification was issued concerning a zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee assembly in Quetta today.

The assembly will happen at Deputy Commissioner’s Complex in Quetta as per the notification. All committee members have been requested to guarantee their presence on the assembly.

Earlier the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) mentioned there are seen possibilities of the Eid-ul-Fitr moon being sighted on June 15 (Friday).

According to the Met Office, there are fewer possibilities of the moon being sighted on Thursday, June 14, with an opportunity of Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated on Saturday, June 16 throughout Pakistan.

In Pakistan, the holy month of Ramazan started on Thursday, May 17.

In Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the month of Ramazan additionally started on Thursday, May 17.
